Link to Smoke Free Ontario Act:

As of January 1, 2015, the Government of Ontario made changes to the Some-Free Ontario Act to further protect children and youth from the dangers of smoking.

With the arrival of spring, Town staff are reminding residents and visitors to our parks that it is illegal to smoke on and around children's playgrounds, sport fields, beaches, tennis courts, skateboard parks and all other publically owned surfaces

Local public health units are responsible for inspections and responding to complaints to enforce the Ace.  For more information about the law or to register a complaint about compliance with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, call Health Connection at 705-721-7520 or 1-877-7520 and a Tobacco Enforcement Officer will follow up.
